Importing your pet to the U.A.E
Getting your cat or dog to UAE requires the following:
- 1. Pet is older than 4 months.
- 2. Pet has to be marked with a microchip.
- 3. All pets have to get vaccinated for Rabies – dogs as well for Distemper, Leptospirosis, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirosis and cats for cat flu and cat enteritis.
- 4. Import permit issued by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, which is valid for 30 days.
- 5. Original veterinary health certificate issued by the Government of the exporting country.
- 6. Pets coming from certain countries need a Rabies-Antibody-Neutralization-Titertest done.This test should not be less than 90 days upon blood withdrawal but not more than a year.
- List of low risk classified states that does not need a rabies blood test: (Australia, Austria, Andorra, Aruba, Barbados, Bahrain, Belgium, Comoros, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, French Polynesia, Islands Falklands, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica,Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Mauritius, Malta, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Portugal, Qatar,Singapore, San Marino, Seychelles, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vanuatu.)
- 7. All pets need to enter the U.A.E. via manifested cargo shipment.
- 8. Some breeds are not allowed to enter the U.A.E.: All kinds of Pit Bull, Japanese Tosa (Tosa Inu; Tosa Fighting Dog), Argentinian Fighting Dog (Dogo Argentino; Argentinian Mastiff), Brazilian Fighting Dog (Fila Brasileiro; Brazilian Mastiff), Cross Breeds with extract of the above listed breeds, Wolf Dog Hybrid ( Any dog mixed with a wolf ), American Staffordshire Terrier.
9. Anti-parasitic treatments should be done within 14days prior departure
